My breasts never feel full

Just wondering if this is common or if it's because of low supply?

I had a breast reduction 18 years ago and suspect this is why I wasn't able to breastfeed properly. I express 50% of what my son needs and the rest is formula.

I never get that "full" feeling in my boobs and they rarely leak, I might get the odd drop but that's tailing off now.

do some women just not get that engorged feeling or is it due to my low supply? It's not a big problem I'm just curious, really. When my milk came in on day 3 I was very very engorged but that's the only time it's ever happened.

I'm just like you. Breastfed 2 children now. Never leaked. And very very rarely felt full/ engorged. Less than 5 times with my 1st and never with 2nd. They were both exclusively breastfed and were ok.

Usually when you feel full or engorged, that's a sign for your body to make less milk. So I'd say it's probably better that you don't have that, as then your body will produce more.

It's very difficult to pump enough for a baby and keep a supply up, so I don't think it's a given that you have low supply, a pump just isn't as efficient at increasing supply as a baby is. Having said that, it sounds like you're doing really well managing to pump half the milk! Well done!

Mine get engorged about once a month but I noticed it tends to be either if baby has been feeding a lot in small amounts or if I’ve had a more restrictive bra on. I occasionally leak but only at early morning feeds. I have so many unused nursing pads haha.

my baby is 5 month and doing well according to HV.
