I’m really struggling with my DS. He is 1 month old yesterday and for the last 2 weeks, especially this week he is inconsolable. He is clearly in pain and I suspect CMPA but I don’t know for sure. He won’t settle, he screams for hours. He is so uncomfortable and I’m pretty sure it’s not trapped wind as he burps fine and we suspected reflux but none of the remedies have done anything. His symptoms are:
- inconsolable crying all day (I spend all day trying to stop him crying we are trapped in the house)
- Going stiff and flinging himself around after feed
- red dots appearing on his head and face during feed
- seemingly in pain with his tummy grunting and moaning
- spitting up (but not vomiting)
- always congested
- family history of eczema and asthma
I went to the GP yesterday who just kept saying reflux but I’m not convinced. I’m waiting for a call back this morning. Does this sound like CMPA? Anyone who has experienced this what did the doctors do? I’m at a loss I’m a first time mum as well and I just feel horrible 😢
