www.mothering.com/articles/new_baby/breastfeeding/medications-breastfeeding.html

BTW they normally only give penicillin or similar to breastfeeding mums if they can because these are usually fine. What have you been prescribed?

The site I linked to is US based, they may have different recommendations (usually stronger than UK ones). Did the GP look it up in the red book? (there is a big book of medicines they refer to - can't remember the name of it). Can you defer taking it till Monday and call your GP or is the infection such that it will fester/get worse?

Also what is your dosage??? Is it under 400mg a day - it may be that trace amounts will pass but that's okay.

DD had a massive allergic reaction within 20 minutes of feeding when I took erythomycin so I think you normally know fairly soon if it's an issue. Your baby might get the squits for a couple of days but that's not to bad if it gets you well so you continue to feed.

Try Tom Hales site (he compiles Medications and Mothers Milk)
neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/medicationforumspage.html
You can enter as guest and search, but only post when registered
His book is definitive resource on medications and breastfeeding
