Teething and poor feeding

Hi there,

My LO is 17 weeks old and in the last week or so hasn’t been feeding particularly well. Usually taking 7.5/8oz per formula feed. Then started only taking 5/6oz, seemed to be sucking the teat hard, losing interest so we moved up to a fast flow teat (was previously on medium flow, have used vari flow in the past but caused issues with wind).

I am now wondering if teething is causing an issue, on the bottom gum there are 2 visible white bits, one more advanced than the other. Lots of hand chewing/excess saliva at the moment. Sleeping routine not so great either at the moment. Anyone have experience of teething causing issues with feeding?

Any help appreciated!

I think it's pretty normal for teething to cause an issue with feeding. Have you tried offering a dose of ibruprofen if they're awake about half an hour before a feed and and a teething gel, like Dentinox, just before?
