How long can you keep breast milk in a bottle ?

If baby doesn’t finish a bottle of breast milk how long do you keep it before discarding the rest? I know you are meant to discard excess formula after 1 hr but I’ve read various advice when it comes to breast milk so was wondering what others do? Hate to waste it but don’t want to risk bacteria either.

If it's warmed up out of the fridge, you're meant to throw it away after an hour. If it's freshly pumped, it can stay at room temperature for up to 6 hours.

Tbh DH didn't realise this, was thawing frozen breastmilk whilst I was out, warming it up then feeding her over the course of 2/3 hours, so if she didn't finish a bottle, he'd give her the leftovers as the start of the next feed and DD has never been I'll from it. Use a little common sense, don't feed your little one breastmilk that's been left out all day, but a little over an hour won't do much har
