Your 10 month olds feeding schedule

namnamnam22 · 23/07/2022 16:20

My LO is 10 months old and currently has
8am - 8oz
9am - breakfast
3pm - 8oz
5:30pm - dinner
7:30pm - 8oz (never finishes)

She rarely drinks more than 3/4oz at bedtime but she does still sleep well. Just looking to see how other babies feed and times etc.

to be honest the 3pm bottle could probably be reduced to 4/5oz as this is sometimes just something to tide her over and a lot of days she isn’t actually looking for the bottle or she’ll only have a few oz but I’m stressing over the bedtime bottle as I know most babies take a bottle to get to sleep whereas she doesn’t usually drink much of it 🙈

please tell me your little ones feeding patterns! X

Do you not give her lunch?

my 10m is still breastfed, he has
7am breakfast
milk feed

12 lunch
milk feed

3pm light snack like a bit of yogurt

6pm dinner
7pm milk feed

My little one is 11 months and I’m just trying to drop the lunch time bottle now (not going that well)!

She’s been on 3 meals a day for quite a while (not even sure how long to be honest 🙈).

8am - bottle first, 8oz, then porridge or weetabix

12.30 - lunch, usually a toasted wrap, pasta or toast and philly followed by a piece of fruit

If she’s moaning in the afternoon and not tired I will give a small snack like raisins or fruit

5pm ish - dinner and fruit, a baby biscuit or yoghurt after

7.30 - milk and bed (8oz)

We’d had that same routine for at least W months I’d say but with the addition of milk at lunch. All bottles were 7oz before and I’ve now dropped it to two 8oz. I’m hoping to be able to switch over to a cup from a bottle at some point soon. 🙈 doubtful though

Oh good thread, I'm trying to work out my 10mo schedule! Was exclusively breastfed but I'm back to work when he's 11mo so have introduced a bottle of formula with some success but our schedule is all over the place.

6-7 breastfeed
9 breakfast (porridge, weetabix, etc)
10-11 nap
Breastfeed or 4oz bottle
12 lunch (bread, cheese, salad, etc)
2 breast feed and nap
5 breast feed or 4oz bottle
6 dinner (pasta etc)
8 5oz bottle and feed to sleep
11-6 breastfeed on and off throughout the night

Looking at other's schedules he is still feeding a lot! Although he won't always finish his bottle. And some are flat out refused but more often the not will drink them. I am desperate to night wean but he uses me as a dodo but won't take an actual dodo. We do baby led weaning other than breakfast but not sure how much he actually eats. Will eat a fair bit if spoon fed but trying to make sure he eats himself. Not sure if I reduce breastfeeding whether he'll eat more?

Thissucksmonkeynuts · 23/07/2022 20:41

I don't remember any schedule, to was feeds plus offering all snacks and meals the rest of us were having. First dc definitely ate then all, second is still unconvinced he needs calories to survive even at nearly 6.

Thissucksmonkeynuts · 23/07/2022 20:44

Samanabanana, the schedules here where the baby is breastfed do seem very light on the boob, at 10 months mind definitely fed more (like an amount that I didn't even try and count), which is really normal.

Samanabanana · 23/07/2022 21:15

@Thissucksmonkeynuts ahh that's reassuring. There's many a "micro" feed in between the main ones too! DC1 was formula fed from 3mo and ate like a champ from the get go so DC2 has thrown me a bit!

AdriannaP · 23/07/2022 22:34

@Samanabanana how did you get your DC to take a bottle? I have been trying everything for two months now and he absolutely refuses (all types of bottles/cups/formula etc.)

i only spoon fed now, as if I do BLW he eats next to nothing and I don’t want to breastfeed most of the day.

Samanabanana · 24/07/2022 08:00

@AdriannaP I got him a nuby sippy cup with a straw for water when he eats. He managed to get the hang of sucking from that which I think was the first step. Then one morning DH had him while I was having a lie in and he was still hungry, after his porridge so he popped some leftover pre made formula in a tommee tippee bottle and he took it fine (he was 9mo). We'd also been trying for months before that and bought every type of bottle! Good luck.

Raggeo · 24/07/2022 08:20

My almost 10mo:

7.30 - 5oz bottle
Before 9 - breakfast weetabix or porridge and fruit
12.00ish - lunch (usually cooked finger foods followed by yoghurt)
15.00 or after nap - 6oz bottle
18.00 - dinner (usually same as what we are having)
19.15 - 5oz bottle

She sleeps through the night. I just recently decreased morning bottle from 6oz to 5 because she wasn't wanting to eat breakfast. If she takes more than 6oz she tends to be sick afterwards so doesn't need it but I think she is on less milk than others I know at her age. She has never taken big bottle of milk. I give her vitamin D supplement now. She loves her food and eats decent sized portions.

AdriannaP · 24/07/2022 08:59

@Samanabanana thanks

namnamnam22 · 24/07/2022 09:10

@AdriannaP oops! Lunch at 12!

UPDATE - SHE GETS LUNCH AT 12 - forgot to add that 😂😂

@Goodnewsday see sometimes late afternoon she gets a bit grumbly and I give her the bottle then but I might offer it after lunch even just a few oz and see if that makes a difference.

i know most babies take a bottle before bed but she just seems to refuse so unsure if the late afternoon bottle then dinner is just filling her 🤔

I don’t think so. Even at 6 months mine fed every 3-4 hours, and slept through the night. I don’t think 10 months old waking regularly for milk in the night is a need, I think it’s habit (like a dummy). But then Dd was an ‘efficient’ feeder and drained the whole boob, she didn’t do ‘snack feeding’ or comfort feeding.
