4mo not feeding

hi all - anyone find that their 4mo just isn’t interested in milk? My LO has been diagnosed with CMPA so has been prescribed neocate. Initially she hated it and every feed was a battle but then she got better. However this last week she just fusses constantly on the bottle. She was only taking about 400/500ml in 24 hours so we’ve started dream feeding her to try and her more milk in her. I’ve tried feeding her in a dark room and tried different teet sizes but nothing works. I’m really starting to worry. Not sure if it’s the hot weather?

Should say that she starts off really well - really enthusiastically feeding but after 80ml/90ml she just pushes the teet around her mouth with her tongue. Is it a case she’ll eat when she’s hungry or should I be worried?

My little one who is also on Necoate did exactly the same for a a while. There is a really helpful group on Facebook called CMPA Support - someone on there recommended that I add an extra scoop to each feed (she had been advised to do this - I think via a few dietician or GP) It seemed to work and now I just make the formula up as usual. I know this is not recommended with regular formula but it didn't seem to have any negative effects on him.

Could be the hot weather, try leaving the bottle go cold. It could be wind or silent reflux either.

Still having the same issues but now LO will only take about 600ml in 24 hours which is an absolute battle….As LO is still tracking their centile line the HV doesn’t seem worried but I’m still worried as they’re really not interested in milk. HV suggested early weaning but LO not interested in solids at all…

If they are tracking their centile line then they are obviously getting all they need from their milk. A baby isn't capable of starving themselves so if they are taking what they want when they want it's all ok.

You can start weaning if you want but if they aren't showing much interest they likely aren't ready for that
