EBF - When is ideal to introduce bottle?

DD is 5 weeks on Sunday and is EBF. Feeding is going well and I love breastfeeding her, however she is very clingy to me (which I love) but it is difficult to get things done haha. I’d like to have the choice for DH to give her an occasional bottle if I need to do anything as currently she is on me a lot of the time and doesn’t really want to be held by anyone else as she knows mama has milk lol. I intend to express rather than give formula so that my supply won’t be impacted.

My worry is, I still want to breastfeed so I don’t want to introduce bottle too soon and then she refuse breast/prefer bottle, but I don’t want to leave it too late that she refuses bottle. The bottles are MAM anti-colic ones. Thank you

I think it's probably best from 6 weeks but you can try cup feeding, have a look on the Kellymom website.

Dad can do other things to give you a break too, like bathing her, cooking meals for you or taking her for a walk after she's been fed and changed Wink
