One year olds and milk

Hi,

When did you guys drop the bottles and how?
My 14 month old was very poorly for a while and regressed to quite a lot of formula bottle feeds whilst in and out of hospital, so we never really got going with the weaning from bottles. He still eats three meals a day and snacks, but has a bottle morning and before bed which I'm unsure how to stop.
I'm worried I'm doing him harm by still giving him formula, and in bottles too. Can anyone advise me what we should be doing at this age and how to go about getting there? Thanks :-)

Hi!

We switched to cows milk at 12 months and ditched the bottles altogether at 19 months. Probably would have been a bit later than that only we lost his last bottle in a house move so just went cold turkey. Was a bit unsettled for a couple of days but that could have been the house move as well. He refused milk in a cup and toddler bottle after that so now only gets milk in things like cereal and we give him his cup of water before bed.

They say 12 months to be off a bottle because of their teeth.

Just change his bottles to cow's milk. Maybe change the morning one to a cup? What does he eat for breakfast? If he has something milky eg cereal, porridge, yoghurt, he probably doesn't need a drink of milk as well.
