Feeding formula cow and gate

I've had my 5 Week old on cow and gate first infant milk from birth. However he feeds so much, has colic, constipation and silent reflux. He does not sleep at all during the day and is really unsettled and that has been from birth.
I'm finding it hard as I obviously don't get to rest at all.
I've gave him laxidives which I gives him diarrhoea, and he is now on thickner. The Dr suggested changing his milk, I was going to purchase cow and gave anti colic and constipation milk? Has anyone had it and what is your opinions

Hi Raexx

That sounds really tough and I can't help thinking your GP should be giving you more guidance.

First steps nutrition trust are a not-for-profit who have loads of really helpful science based information available online about formula milk. However they do generally say that all formula has to include basically the same ingredients so there is no better or worse formula milk.
First steps nutrition trust also say that special formulas such as anticolic formula or comfort milk are not really proven by research.

Any hypoallergenic formula or other non-dairy milks are supposed only to be used under the guidance of a doctor.

On the subject of reflux, sicky babies, food intolerances, gaviscon and even the microbiome Shel Banks is considered a leader in the field. She works within the NHS in research, training and project management. Here’s great presentation from her:

The film is an hour long but there is a helpful Facebook post time-stamping the different subjects covered.
