How calorific is breastmilk when extended breastfeeding ?

And is there an actual limit as to how much a toddler should have ? Or is it fine whenever they would like to feed?

my dc is 2 and still feeds a lot, obviously I can’t measure the amount as I can’t see it but I’m wondering is there a rough guide? I can’t find anything online - we are still feeding approx 6 times in 24 hours - some feeds are quick 5 mins others are nap time for 30-40 mins

dc doesn’t eat a massive amount , eats ok, just enough but HV wants breastfeeding to stop as weight gain has been quite a lot. I’m wondering though if this is weight gain from breastmilk though then it’s ok as the benefits of breastmilk outweigh the risks of being a little bigger than average ?

I’ve heard that breastfed babies gain less weight than formula fed babies after the first six months, and I assume this pattern continues into the toddler years???

What is the rest of DC’s diet like and how much exercise does DC get?

I doubt there's that much more being taken in during the longer feeds, the majority is taken in over the first five minutes. 30-40 mins at that age will involve a lot of comfort sucking.

How big are you and babies dad? I wouldnt put it down to the breastmilk, more genetics, if you take him off before your ready and he continues his same size or gets bigger then you cant put him back on.

Every EBF child I know if significantly slimmer than any FF counterparts.

So I wouldn't worry.

(I EBF mine and have a group of friends made at a breastfeeding group so we're all in touch still and 6 of them EBF to ages 2/3/4 - then I have family kids and school friends etc to compare to. Honestly none of the EBF kids are 'well built' like lots of the non EBF are.)
