Mastitis getting worse?

Hope someone can help…sorry for the long post but of course it’s a Sunday and 111 long wait. Just after some advice really.

I’m combo feeding my 4 month old. I got a red patch and tenderness on my breast 5 days ago, flu-like symptoms, typical mastitis stuff although no lump. Prescribed ABs by GP and currently 4 days in of 7 day course. I felt better the next day, red patch and pain disappeared. However the day after that I got a fever again, body pain, chills, white spots on my throat (although I get that when I’m run down). My 4 year old son had tonsillitis the week before. Now my questions is, is this mastitis getting worse or some fresh new hell? I’ve got no redness or pain in my breasts so surely it can’t be mastitis!? GP said if mastitis got worse I should go to a&e but is that really justified?

I’m just so down at the moment as obviously husband is back to work tomorrow and I can’t look after my baby feeling this terrible…
