Hoping for some experience/advice here please
Currently combination feeding almost 4 week old (I have IGT so low supply that cannot be rectified with pumping etc). Our routine is 3oz formula every 3-4 hours during the day and BF on demand in between times and at night.
DS still wants to BF all the time, straight after a bottle and then intermittently through the day. Not too bad overnight does do a decent 3/4 hour stretch then up every hour or so until morning.
I’m leaning towards just going to 100% formula feeding but I’m worried I’ll end up over feeding him! The way he wants to feed all the time now I’ll be making bottles every 5 mins!
Or would he just settle into a better routine with larger bottles, requiring them less often?!
How much do you give a formula fed baby at this age per bottle?
I’m also wondering if increasing bottle size to 4oz would mean he’s had a “full meal” a few times a day and would BF a bit less often, making it more sustainable for me?!
My husband is back at work tomorrow and I’ll be left with DS who is feeding so often and for long periods and toddler who is in the depths of terrible twos and I’m frightened of being chained to a feeding baby!
TIA
