Hi everyone I need some advice I am currently breastfeeding my 16 month son he also eats a lot of food during the day breakfast lunch dinner and snacks he likes to breastfeed to go to sleep ( I am his human dummy lol) and he doesn’t sleep through the night yet. I still haven’t had a period I’ve also been having unprotected sex with my partner I have been doing pregnancy tests but they are all saying negative I also miss having a baby in my belly and keep feeling flutters in my stomach but feel like I’m crazy because all the test are negative. Has anyone experienced this before? Also has anyone gotten pregnant breastfeeding without having a period for this long. ❤

I know people who've got pregnant before their first period came back. The easiest way to check if you've started ovulating again would be to use some ovulation sticks. Everyone reacts differently but breastfeeding can delay ovulation for a long time, so you might wish to reduce the amount you're feeding if you are hoping to fall pregnant soon.

I also felt the flutters in my tummy. I think it was everything getting ready to start ovulating again - felt it both times, at around 16ish months.

With both my kids my periods come back when their sleep improved, and there was a solid 6-8 hours without feeding. If your hoping for it to start up again so you can ttc, you could consider night weaning or revers cycling it and still feeding to sleep but not in the day to give the same longer gap.

Your first ovulation will be apx 2 weeks before your first period, so if you fall pregnant then, it is entirely possible to have two pregnancies without a period in between.

Mine came back at 13 months both times, when they finally did a longer stretch at night. With my first I stopped bf that month and put it down to that, with my second I carried on bf in the day and my period came back at exactly the same time so I think it’s just what my body does.
