Gaviscon and comfort Milk

My 6 week old was prescribed gaviscon for silent reflux just over a week ago, and while it seems to have helped his reflux and the fact he was gagging after every feed, he is now straining constantly whenever he is laid flat and sometimes even upright for a poo. He is however still going once a day, but they are very doughy and can tell he is in pain during.

i am thinking of putting him on Aptamil comfort and doing alternate feeds with gaviscon. Eg; 1 feed on comfort and the other on regular Aptamil with gaviscon

any advice?

Hi, I just wondered how you got on using the Aptamil comfort milk?.. my 6 week old has been on normal Aptamil and gaviscon for 3 weeks now for silent reflux and was just prescribed lactulose to help him poo but he still brings up acid and isn't sleeping well (coughing and gagging)..I'm thinking of switching him to Aptamil comfort milk too but there's just so much information out there so I'm hesitant to switch..any info would be fab..thank you! :)

@Mel163 I think if he's got reflux like symptoms and difficulty in pooing there's a chance it could be the milk proteins that he's having trouble with.

Have a read of this article from Allergy UKK* and see if the symptoms sound familiar Flowers
