well, have just dropped 1 bf in favour of bottle of formula - dd would normally take 8oz expressed breast milk in a bottle, but if I do 8 oz of boiled water & 8 scoops of formula, it ends up being 9oz in the bottle! so do I call that a 9oz or an 8oz feed?
durrrr...

i have always wondered that too!

me and dh agree to disagree - he says 9 i say 8

unless you have a specific reason, i dont think it matters xenawp. also, when you are breast feeding you havent a clue how much they take, do you, so dont worry!

It's the liquid you measure - if you add 8 oz of water to a bottle, it is still an 8oz feed even if the addition of the powder takes it up to 9 oz. But it really doesn't matter....it's just terminology.

sorry not to respond before, but thanks to you both for replies, it's not crucial, but is just to try & have a vague idea of how much she's having on average per feed
