Blocked Ducts

DD is almost 3 months old and I seem to have my third case of mastitis and think I have a blocked duct. Does anyone have any tips for clearing them? Won't be able to see my doctor until Monday!

Massage
Hand express
Get baby to feed
Warm bath
Warm flannel

Thank you! Is hand expressing a better idea than using a pump?

Make a fist with your thumb sticking out, then roll the fist (quite hard) from the top of your boob, right down to the areola.

I found doing this in the shower more comfortable, and supporting the boob with the other hand.

Good luck xx

Yes it can be. Blocked ducts are (pardon the pun) a real pain. Comb your fingers down your breast and work on the area where the blocked duct is. It might be easier to do in a warm bath.

Hope you get it sorted before you need the doctor.

get the baby to suck with her chin near to where the blockage is - i did this and it seemed to help as well as all the other advice on here..
