yes after 6 months apparently formula is better because it contains more iron, so a bm substitute is better than the real deal!

Sometimes, I think it would be worth having another baby just to take one of these HV on just to see what stupid thing I could get them to tell me! Even I could teach them a thing or two!

Did you put her right robinredbreast?

tiktok · 09/01/2008 17:16

FioFio - DH do not have an upper limit on breastfeeding, thankfully! It's exclusive bf to 6 mths and thereafter alongside solids with no ceiling

Arrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!! FFS!

I know there are some great HVs out there (my usual one for example) so don't they get thoroughly fed up with their less well-informed colleagues?

WTF??!!

Clever formula marketing b*stards - they've peddled that one effectively, haven't they?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 09/01/2008 17:22

How exactly can they measure the amount of iron in breast milk????

ReverseThePolarity · 09/01/2008 17:25

Oh god yeah FioFio, "your baby may well be feeding less often now and taking more solids" my ds is still feeding 10+ times a day on top of lots of blw-type finger foods!

What a load of codswallop some of those bounty / netmums / babycentre emails are!

robinredbreast · 09/01/2008 17:30

she called me and asked why i havent ben down with dd for 2 months, i replied as i have no worries about dd
she said well have you taken her somewhere else to get weighed ?
i replied no,as i don't think i need to know what she weighs as im confident dd is fine.shes a bright as a button in 6.5 months has only had about 3 days of the sniffles shes happy and laughing and sleeping well
why do i ned to weigh her all the time

so she started questioning me asking what was i feeding her
told her what shes been having which is basically just
veg and fruit at the moment as i only started weaning her when she was 6 months, another thing hv doesnt agree with

so when she told me i should give formula instead of bm i just pmsl
she was v annoyed at me laughing at her
ive told her if ive got any worries im taking dd to our dr who is fab

My friend was told the same thing. Need to take supplements as bm doesn't have all the vitamins that formula has!
