Introducing a bottle a day - when to pump?

Hi,

STM here but I formula fed my first from about 4 days old so this is all new to me. We're looking at introducing a bottle of expressed milk into our routine and I've read mixed things regarding expressing so just looking for some experiences.

I've read that I'll need to pump for every missed breast feed while baby is getting bottle, however is this the case even if baby is getting a bottle at the same feed every evening? For example, could I pump after our morning feed and use that milk to give in the evening? I would assume that as I would be adding in a pumping session, my supply would increase and regulate to account for the morning pump and then decrease when my body realises milk is no longer needed around the time the bottle is being given. Is this correct? Or do I have to pump at the time the bottle is being given?

Any advice is welcome :)

I mix feed but would pump after every session. You might get a full but i xant and so build small amounts 10ml / 20ml /30ml across the day to make one feed during "day 1"
My dh gives this feed at night (like 3/4am) of day 1 and if i pump at 5/6am i get a lot of milk (like 90 /100 ml) thats then close to a full feed for "day 2". He gives that on day 2 while i pump day 3 milk etc.
