Gaining weight too fast - anyone worried??

Gorgeous lo is 13 weeks and 15lb! She was fairly big at birth (8lb 13oz) but she has now moved into the 98th percentile for her weight, joining her measurement on the height curve!

She's got really chubby cheeks, but i'm still worried she's going to be chubby when she gets older. Anyone else share my concerns? should i be worried?? My hv has suggested white sma. Any advice?

Hi ellensmelons, my DD sounds very similar to yours! she is 15 weeks and last week was 151b4ozs, she was the same weight as your dd when she was born. My HV has never expressed any concerns over her weight, (DD is breastfed and the health visitor seems to think I must be producing double cream!!). I'm not an expert but really don't think you should be concerned, she is following the right curve on the chart, I don't think what they are like now has any bearing on what they will be like when they are older. When we go to baby clinic my DD looks twice as old as the other babies there and as soon as anyone sees her they can't believe she is only 15 weeks (and I have had this comment since the day she was born!) don't spend time worrying about this, IMO there is nothing better than my DD chubby thighs and cheeks!

Thanks midget! And i get the same comments, altho some of them can be a tad hurtful 'ooooh isn't she big!'. I know they don't mean it horribly. The only thing i'm bothered about is that she has jumped from the 92%ile to the 98th curve.

Hi again ellensmelons, theres a thread in "behaviour and development" that might interest you called " should I be worried that my 3 month old is wearing 6-9 month clothes" sorry I can't do a link, but if you read that it might provide more reassurance.
