6 month old EBF bottle/sippy cup help

Hi! My ds has just turned 6 months and has been EBF except for a few top up formula bottles when he was first born. I've been thinking recently that I want to stop breastfeeding. I am starting to feel quite trapped by it all being on me, he feeds before and after every nap, before bed and through the night. I've loved the bond but I am exhausted and have never been out without him yet. I would quite like to start going to my friends birthdays and on the odd day/evening out with my mum and sister now. Just a bit of back story, baby has suspected CMPA and is on reflux medication. We had a really awful first 4/5 months with his sleep. His reflux is now controlled and we finally are managing naps and a good night's sleep in his cot with just 3/4 wake ups a night but he absolutely won't sleep in his pram. So I have to be home for nap times to feed him and put in his cot. Anyway sorry this is getting a bit long winded but basically I'd really like to pump and introduce a bottle or cup of breast milk and eventually wean him fully on to this and completely off of breast.
What is the best way of going about this? Has anyone got any tips or tricks or advice from experience?
We have tried him with a bottle and he just chews it and doesn't drink. He is taking small sips of water from a Tommy tippee free flow cup but not really much.
Help please :( am getting desperate now and starting to wish I'd never even started breastfeeding.

No advice on bottle but I’d be very wary of exclusively pumping. I tried that with dc1 and it was a disaster for my mental health. Pumping is awful. It doesn’t save any time either, in fact takes longer as you need to feed baby then pump.
If you want to stop breastfeeding just move onto formula. I’ve ebf dc2 and we’re coming up to 6 months. Am just going to move onto formula.

Hello, just wanted to share that I could have written this exact post two months ago. My baby now 8 months, and although I’ve made a little progress I still want to stop but don’t know how!

Same as you, mine wouldn’t take to bottle. To my surprise I tried her with the Munchkin weighted flexi straw cup and she loved it! They’re a pain to clean but the reflex to suck on a straw seemed to work well. As previous poster said I decided not to bother with pumping and started offering this way of feeding once a day.

Do you follow a general routine in terms of when you feed during the day? I feed on demand but I think I’m going to start trying to offer it at specific times only (approx 7, 11, 3, 7) and start putting her down to nap without a feed. Will be hard to do, but I think this will be key to feeling like I can leave the house alone again! Also, that way I can start replacing the feeds with the formula one by one, which is what I’ve seen is recommended

Maybe we can keep in touch about how we are going!
