How often does your breastfed 5mo (ish) feed?

DC2 is 5mo (ish) and pretty big boy. He's mostly breastfed other than 3 bottles of formula a week. During the day I offer the breast approximately every 3-4hrs. He will immediately seem like he wants to feed and latches straight away but I'm lucky if he stays on for about 30 seconds at a time, he just pulls on and off for a few minutes and then I just stop and put myself away. If he cries or finds this upsetting I will offer the other side but even then he does the same thing. It's really rare that he stays latched on without pulling off for more than 30-60 seconds at a time other than during the night when he's usually a bit calmer to feed. He typically has two night feeds a night. The nights he has formula he is consistently drinking about 200ml of that in that feed and then he always wakes about 3hrs after for a breastfeed. He doesn't really have a bedtime feed anymore either and is sleeping a significantly shorter stretch on a night now as a result, so toying with the idea of a dream feed around 10/11pm, or trying to put him on some kind of vague feeding schedule so he will be hungry for a proper feed before bed...?

My boy is 6 months and enjoying solid food for the past fortnight now. He's quickly settled in to 3 meals a day but still early days and a lot of playing about with the food and exploring rather than eating.

He still breastfeeds about 6 times a day. So every 2 hours. He's on the small side. Some feeds are longer than others but some are only a few minutes. He's bloody nosey so also struggles to focus on a feed in the day if there are interesting things going on around him. He wakes four times a night and his feeds are long. I often think if he'd bloody well take more in the day he'd probably wake less in the night to feed, but I can't force any more milk into him in the day. If he doesn't want it he won't take it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I found that mine got easily distracted at that age and would do a lot of "on-off" feeding.

Maybe try feeding somewhere with fewer distractions (for mine that included pretty light fittings 🙄)
