No issues with reflux but since we had a new box of formula a week ago DS has gone from pooing once a day to once every 2-3 days. His farts stink as well worse than ever. Really hoping it's just his body getting used to the change.

Littlecart · 20/03/2022 09:11

It is now making him sick. This happened in 2018 where the updated formula was making babies sick. It looks like this formula could be doing the same

How are you getting on now? We seem to have a constipated baby, she’s 4.5 months and I did try to phase in the new milk but there was no warning so I only had half a tub of the old stuff left. Were on day 3 of full new formula and she hasn’t had a proper poo for 2 days. This evening she’s started straining which is horrid to see and not helping.

mummyh2016 · 26/03/2022 19:25

@Randomness12 Poos aren't completely back to normal but we're getting there. Still once every couple of days whereas before it was roughly once a day. He's not in pain or straining any more though!

Littlecart · 27/03/2022 11:58

We decided to change milk. We’ve gone onto the comfort milk. It seemed to stop him being sick. However he’s still constipated even on this milk.

My 7 MO has started projectile vomiting on the new Aptamil-never happened with the previous one. Do they get used to it? Or worth changing brand?

NovRainbow5 · 02/04/2022 19:54

We’ve bought 4 tubs of the old aptamil from our local Morrisons (not sure if all Morrisons are stocking the old one but ours has loads of it). We bought a new tub and it make my LO really sick. She was vomiting and had diarrhoea too (not a bug) it stopped as soon as we put her back on the old milk. I think if we run out of this milk we will change brands

Lsoc · 22/04/2022 08:08

Hiya, I’m also struggling with the new formulation for my 6 week old. She has been on the older formula from birth and seems to be really sick on the updated tubs and is struggling with going to the toilet. I managed to get a few old tubs from Morrisons also so I’ll continue on them for a few more weeks and then decide what to do. We travel a lot so I selfishly wanted to keep her on aptamil as it’s quite easy to get hold of, we had her on the new formulation for around 6 days - do you think that’s long enough for her to get used to it or did we not give it long enough?

ninjabridge · 02/05/2022 08:11

Hello. We’re having the same problem with the new Aptimil Advanced. Our 7wk old has been vomiting after every feed and the vomit stinks of tangy gone off milk. We’ve tried to stick it out for 10days but no improvement so we’re going to change to a different formula.

CazLou89 · 08/05/2022 02:39

Since starting the new formula my 6 week old has started to really fuss with her bottles. Not having it all, really crying and creating when trying to wind her. She’s one episode of diarrhoea and a day where she didn’t go at all and I would say bad trapped wind.. she’s not the easiest baby to wind but seems to have gotten worse since starting the new updated formula! Going to see if this improves in a few days and if not will be changing formula

Jessicarachel0503 · 16/05/2022 07:13

Hey,
my 11months old still has three bottles in day including night and I feel as if the formula has made her so constipated she’s finding it so hard to poo and her poo is massive how have you been getting on

CinnamonLibra · 17/05/2022 16:44

We persisted with the new Aptamil formulation for 3 weeks- little one was only pooping every 3 days and vomited after most feeds. Have now switched brands and 3 days in we have no vomiting and daily bowel movements

RosannaV · 18/05/2022 09:28

Hi everyone. We're having the same problem... moved on to the advanced pack four days ago and my son's being so sick! He's got reflux anyway but we've managed to get it mostly under control with infant gaviscon. He seems absolutely fine but vomming huge amounts which smells rancid, which it never has done before. I've just ordered six tubs of the old stuff from Boots to see if it calms down putting him back on that and then thinking I might try and phase in the new one. I read online that it can take up to 10 days to acclimatise to new formula - has anyone had any luck with this? For those of you who have switched formula (@CinnamonLibra @ninjabridge), what have you moved to? How are you finding it? Wary that moving to another formula will have the same reaction...

CinnamonLibra · 18/05/2022 09:41

@RosannaV we were deciding between Kendamil and Hipp, we opted for Hipp as they have ready to feed bottles that are easier to come by Smile

ninjabridge · 18/05/2022 12:47

@RosannaV we also have opted for Hipp and it’s been great. We were so nervous about changing again just in case that was the issue, so we persisted for 3 weeks with the new Aptimel ensuring every bottle was made exactly as per instructions but still no good. We actually ended up in hospital with our little one last week because the reflux got so bad that he stopped breathing momentarily and passed out. He went floppy and unresponsive, it was very scary!! Apparently that can happen with new babies and bad reflux. Obviously every baby is different but if yours isn’t happy on this formula I would urge you to change asap.

sellotape12 · 25/05/2022 09:57

Think my post didn’t send. Experiencing the same thing. My four month old is fully formula-fed. For the last 10 days he’s had way more reflux, projectile milk spotup every few hours. Changing outfit three times a day! He also has diarrhoea for seven days and his nappies smell like horseradish. Health Visitor said it couldn’t be the new formula but I’m sure that’s the only thing that coincides with, and he is otherwise well and happy .

Archiesmum22 · 30/05/2022 09:05

Morning all, my little one was on aptamil comfort till he was 4 months old then we put him on the original number 1, he has been absolutely fine on it and then we moved him onto follow on milk with the new formulation and were 9 days in and he seems to have started with tummy ache again. He can be fast asleep and then screams out and legs are up. He is constipated too. He settles with me rubbing his tummy. Just wondered if anyone had the same problem this far in and if its the palm oil possibly? Problem is I can't find any original 1 in stores anymore and wanted to know what others had gone onto? I have found some original 2 and wondered if anyone else had problems with that? I'm a very lost and tired mummy

Hipp organic formula has worked for us and is supposed to be gentle on their tummy

Eimbyrne · 25/06/2022 15:53

Hi. I'm just popping on after reading all the posts on the new aptamil change. First time mum, I ran out and stocked up on the old for.ula, baby now 10 months. I've got in some ready to feed sma cartons, afraid to chance new aptamil formula. Has anyone had issues with sma?
