...and noticed not recommended with BFing. Why is this and should I worry?

i think it is because they can't test meds on PG women so they put this disclaimer on most things

i am sure you will be fine

RubySlippers · 05/01/2008 09:15

doh - you aren't PG

sorry you aren't well ...

is evidence-based info and it looks to me that while in theory there may be concerns, even massive doses do not show up as an issue in practice. Baby gets 1 per cent of your dose only. Read it and judge for yourself

callmeovercautious · 05/01/2008 09:20

It contains Asprin (or a similar chemical) so is not recommended because of the risk of Reyes syndrome (sp?) Did you just have one dose?

Kellymom rates it as an L2 which is safe but not the safest. Have a look here

tiktok · 05/01/2008 09:20

Sorry - less than one per cent, and the one case report after a massive dose was seen in a baby where they did not even know if the effect was from the bf.

Brilliant-thanks for that. I took 15ml before I realised and a therapuetic dose is 30. Also was last thing before bed so was a good seven hours before I fed.

Thanks
