Hi, i gave birth to my first baby yesterday and have been home since around midday today.

Little one is drinking 30ml of formula every 3-4 hours but have noticed that he is sick around 2 hours after his last feed and its quite a lot of milk that he is bringing up. We have burped him after each feed so a little worried why he is still being sick.

Any ideas on what this could be? I do have a midwife coming to see us tomorrow so will ask her but worrying now as a first time Mum.

Please be kind as I worry at the best of times.

Congratulations on your baby!
It sounds normal to me. Babies’ digestive tract is not fully developed at that age so it’s easy for the contents of the stomach to come back up. The muscles aren’t used to keeping the milk down so they need ‘training up’ over time. Think of it as a bit like pelvic floor muscles; the more they’re used and the more developed they get as baby gets older, the less trouble they’ll have keeping milk down
As long as baby is gaining weight, there’s no concern Flowers
