Reassurance?

Hi everyone. My baby is 3.5 months old and has been ebf since birth. He’s gained weight super well but I’ve always had concerns about his tummy - lots of being sick, spit ups, mucousy nappies etc. i trialled dairy free for a while and it improved then reintroduced dairy and he had a few symptoms again and a green awful nappy so I cut it out and contacted the gp.

The GP has prescribed us some formula for my baby to have so he can go on a bottle now & again with the intent to fully being on formula milk during daytimes when I go back to work.

The reason I want to use formula for returning to work is that my milk seems to be high lipase. I had a great stash going and it’s all rank.

I am GUTTED about this. I wanted to feed my baby my milk until he turned 1 but the high lipase is just too much - scalding, cooling and freezing every time I pump is not achievable. I could maybe manage this for the odd bottle but not for 3 days worth of milk a week.

I just want some reassurance about formula, I’m a bit nervous to give it to my baby and the effects it might have on his little tum. And that I’m doing the right thing, having pangs of doubt that I’m just being lazy re the expressed milk.
