How to introduce formula to EBF baby (6m)

Looking for tips and suggestions:

My baby is going to go to a childminder from when he is 9 months old (currently 6m), 4 days a week 8am to 1pm.

He is EBF but I’m planning to start giving him formula only when he’s at the childminder’s (they go out on excursions a lot so difficult to store breastmilk).

Just after some tips on how to introduce this to him and also whether I should use a bottle or beaker. Because of his age maybe better to use a beaker? (Suggestions on what types/brands are good welcome too). He’s hardly ever had a bottle.

I still want to keep breastfeeding until he’s at least 1 year old so I guess I also need to express to keep supply up.

Many thanks 😊

Hi, I went back to work a little later with my EBF son (about 10.5 months) and had to leave him all day suddenly from having fed lots during the day. I fed him before work at 0630 and then on return at 1700 (and about 17000 times overnight...). I tried expressing some emergency milk for him but he wasn't interested and just drank water while I was gone from his sippy cup. So you might find with it only being an 8-1 stretch you can manage without and just be ready to breastfeed as soon as you pick up

By 9 months baby won't need any milk between 8 and 1. They can just have solids and water.

Don't stress about bottles or formula. They'll be fine :)
