Baby with a cold

After 10 weeks of painful feeding things were finally getting better - then ds caught his first cold at 11 weeks! He has been blocked up for almost a week and finding feeding difficult, and my supply seems to be suffering now. He is also clamping really hard so once again my nipples are in agony.
God I am so tired and depressed now - has taken nearly two hours to get a half decent feed into him with him getting angrier and angrier with my boob.
We are doing everything advised - saline drops, suctioning when it is needed, elevated mattress. I am feeding him often even if it is only a few minutes proper sucking....
I really don;t want to go through the whole 'top up' debate with baby clinic again - please help!

Have you tried running a HOT bath and keeping the door and windows closed to completely steam out the room with him sitting in it? I always found steam to clear them the best.

Don't worry. You'll be ok. My DD is 11 weeks and had a really nasty cold a few weeks ago. Her feeding was all over the place and I got sore nipples but I dealt with it using nipple shields. When her nose was really blocked she wouldn't really feed because it was hard for her to breathe but as she got better she started to cluster feed to make up for it. I just had to go with it. It was horrible but it did all get better and didn't affect milk supply in the long run.
Hang in there!

Thanks - good to hear there is light at the end! Just so tired with hourly waking and so sore when I at last had managed to get him to latch properly before this happened.
Poor little thing, it sounds so miserable not being able to have a good nose-blow
Did your lo lose weight missbumpy? HVs are putting me under pressure to top up yet again
