Express Milk - Quantities?

Hi there ,

We just feeding our 16 week daughter the occasional bottle (Tommie Tippee seems to work much better than NUK as smaller opening)..

She will happily munch 2.5/3 fl.oz at lunchtime but then screams for more and then breastfeeds for about 5/10 mins more (normally 30/40 mins at that time). She is now on 7 feeds a day including one in the middle of the night, which disappeared for a tantalising 3 days and is now on the menu again.

I was going to try her on 4 next time but I am worried that she is eating far too much and will always cry for more whatever the quantity. Any thoughts on how much they should drink a feed/day?

Bryony xx

ohhhhhhhhhhh im not expert but if you wanting to keep bf up think you still need to be doing night fed?

Don't think you can really over feed her. What I've suggested to the mothers I've worked for in the past that have combined fed is express say 4oz and then if baby finishes all of it then express another oz more for next time(eg 5oz), if they don't finish all of it then just express 4oz for next time. Hope that makes sense!
