Bells3032 · 07/02/2022 21:21

We are hoping to move to powder formula once our premie is big enough in a couple of weeks.

Any tips. We plan to get the perfect prep machine but also any hints for on the go etc

Thank you

Make it up with boiling water, or atleast water thats above 70 degrees. Formula powder is not sterile and the boiling water kills the bacteria in the powder.

A lot of people either don't know to do this, or misunderstand the instructions on how to make formula feeds up.

For out and about take a carton and a sterilised bottle

Ready made cartons are useful when out the house

Or you could get a formula tub that has sections in it. You just need to scoop the required amount into a compartment. I use the mam one, it's great.

The mam powder tubs are great for out and about, we used them a lot!

Definitely use a formula that comes in premade cartons if you can. DS was on aptamil anti reflux so we couldn't.
