Struggling with the latch

My little one is 2 weeks old and still struggling with latching on. I’m following the advice of keeping baby close to my body, tummy to tummy, supporting the neck, bringing baby near the breast and waiting for her to open her mouth and then pulling toward the breast fit her to latch on. She latches but it can be really painful and she’s quite aggressive with it, she also wriggles around a lot and pulls at the nipple. I’m so tired but not giving up on breastfeeding. Any tips are welcome. I’m waiting to see someone for support. Baby is gaining weight well so that’s not a concern, my discomfort is. Thanks

I found the video in the link helpful. Are you getting someone to check the latch and for tongue tie? Lansinoh cream or some breastmilk after feeding to help with healing.

With my second she took a while to learn to open her mouth fully and a few weeks after her tongue snip to learn to use her tongue fully so I had some pain for the first 8 weeks. Although I would have said uncomfortable rather than the excruciating pain on latch when she was a newborn.

Good luck, sounds like you are doing a great job if the wee one is gaining weight well.

Have you tried putting the nipple on her nose and letting her move up for it? And also looking at how you are holding your breast?
Nipple shields can be good if you need a break.
