CMPA baby - formula with oat milk

Hi!
Baby baby (9 months) has diagnosed CMPA and has been exclusively breast fed. She's been steadily dropping weight centiles but Dr wasn't worried - happy and thriving otherwise.
I've now gone back to work full time and can't pump enough for her the next day at nursery. For lots of reasons. Feeding on demand around her 10 hours at nursery otherwise. Dietician suggested a bottle of formula in the day alongside the 1 bottle of breast milk I can pump. We tried dairy free acid formula before but she wouldn't drink it (don't blame her it's smells vile!). Dietician has suggested mixing it with oat milk instead of water. Now I'm home and wondering... How?! I've never prepared powder formula before but thought it had to be hot to sterilise the powder. Do I just mix the powder with warm oat milk? Or mix it in cold then warm it up? Or mix it hot and then let it cool to a drinkable temp?! Would appreciate advice from anyone that's done this before Smile

Hmm, never heard that suggested before.
DS just drank water if I wasn't around - but it wasn't all day every day and he was really good with food.

I think you'd need to make up the formula with the minimum amount of hot water that will disolve the formula, cool it down, then add oatmilk to get the right final volume (note if it says 7oz bottle, the final volume will be above 7oz because of the powder).

Des she drink oat milk cold or warmed? The formula will probably need to be the same temperature.

But I'm also wondering if adding milk to formula powder is a bit like making super strength formula, and so a bad idea.

Thanks @maizeamaze
She normally drinks oat milk cold. I think Oat milk is mostly water anyway. I think I'll do what you said - make it with hot then add the oat milk to top it up. Just read the back of formula and it says to let the water cool down before adding formula anyway which isn't how I thought it was made up these days! She does eat really well and drinks water as well.

If she’s still having night feeds it’s ok for her to just drink water at nursery.

Maybe make up the formula with boiling water but use less water than usual and add oat milk afterwards?

Adding pureed fruit to the milk is another option.

I thought that as well @seaborgium. She used to sleep through but is it all the all night buffet every night since starting nursery 😂 I'm out of the house from 7am til 6pm so maybe it's just too long.
