My baby was born prematurely at 31+4, he is 10 weeks old now, and has been on expressed breast milk the whole time. We have been home for 5 weeks now.
When he was in nicu he never/very rarely vomited, however since I’ve been home, he’s developed a rash which is worsening, I showed the GP she said excema but after googling it’s now looking more red and blotchy like a milk allergy rash (it’s only on his stomach/ body area)
The last week he has also starting vomiting when I wind him half way through and after a feed, not loads but more than before.
And his stools are loose/stringy mucuousy. This is only the last 2 weeks.
He also sounds very congested, and does cough occasionally.
Admittedly when he was in nicu I wasn’t eating much dairy so that could account for the change since he’s been home.
Now what confuses me is he’s a happy baby, no screaming for hours on end, very occasional back arching initially which stopped when I changed to dr browns bottles. And he sleeps for 5-6 hours through the night, I thought if they had an allergy they were constantly screaming/ un settled.
Can anyone help?
I’ve attached a picture of the rash.

Just wondering if the rash is where his nappy sits? There have been a couple of threads recently about nappies causing a rash.

Congratulations on you DS. I bet having him that early was a shock! Thanks

Did you get sorted? My baby has a very similar rash that comes and goes and I’m currently on a dairy free diet (she’s breastfed) to see if it helps! Like you she has the loose stringy stools, generally a settled baby that sleeps through. Just tearing my hair out looking for answers as she’s started to refuse to feed!!

Hi! Sorry I know you posted this a long time ago. Did you get to the bottom of what the rash was?
my little one has a rash exactly the same as this at the mo and I’m wondering whether it’s CMPA
