Comfort Milk (Aptamil)

Have people used comfort milk long term, ie until 12 months or is it made to be more of a temporary thing?

My DS has been on it since 3 weeks old and is now 4.5 months. Do we aim to go back to 'regular full milk'?

If he's ok with it, I'd just stay on it until 12 months @c307 Smile

My eldest was on it in 2019 from 3/4 weeks old until just before 6 months. Weaned her onto normal stage 1 Aptamil 2 weeks before weaning her onto solids - I gradually started with one daytime bottle by adding 1oz of normal Aptamil with 6oz comfort, and then second day the same bottle had 2oz normal/5oz comfort, 3rd day 3oz normal/4oz comfort etc so she had a full bottle of normal Aptamil on day 7. Once I knew she was fine with that full bottle of normal I made all bottles with the normal Aptamil by day 8, and gave her a good week on normal Aptamil to make sure she was fine with it before we started with solid food. I don’t see any problem using it for 12 months but I did it because a) normal was cheaper than comfort, b) they sell ready made normal Aptamil but not comfort, and c) it seemed like it would make a smoother transition to cows milk/dairy by making sure they’re ok with non-comfort formula.
