Red face and bringing up feeds

DS is 12 weeks old, EFF. brings up milk or sometimes watery fluid even hours after feeds. Diagnosed with reflux and prescribed gaviscon but doesn't make much difference. He is very windy and always struggling with wind even though he burps well after feeds, and seems to go red and blotchy in the face when feeding. Questioned CMPA but HV said highly unlikely. Could it just be the reflux causing this or could it be an allergy of some sort?

Did the HV say why they thought CMPA would be unusual, especially given that around 10% of the population have it?

Have a read of this from Kellymom abs if the symptoms sounds familiar I'd ask for a referral to a Paediatric Dietician.

Thank you. HV said it was unlikely as there would be more symptoms if a CMPA and put all symptoms down to reflux and to just deal with it unless we want to go down the medication route ie.omeprazole

Slightly unusual advice from you HV there, I think she’s may be confusing ige with non-ige symptoms. Did you manage to have a read of the article on Kellymom and do any sound familiar?
