CMPA symptoms

Hi all

My DD is 5 months now and is BF. I’m wondering if she has CMPA with the following symptoms:

Brings up lots of feeds (always has)
Sounds constantly congested / has a cough (I put this down to her catching nursery bugs from DS but it happens even when he’s not germy)
Generally unsettled during the day and I don’t know how to soothe her
Slight cradle cap
Very windy

No mucus/blood in her nappies, no skin rashes.
I’ve no idea if she has reflux or an allergy to something. I give her infant gaviscon but that doesn’t make much difference to her bringing milk back up and I’m reluctant to up the dose in case it causes constipation.

Any thoughts?

It could be, but those are quite subtle symptoms if so as lots of infants just have them as their immune and digestive systems are developing.
If it's Cmpa you'll find out very quickly when weaning onto solids... make sure you give dairy foods slowly and look for symptoms.
We didn't realise cmpa til 6 months for this reason, although she'd had lots of less obvious symptoms earlier. She's still only halfway up the milk ladder at 4.5 and failed on yoghurt only yesterday.
My youngest was cmpa but no symptoms at all when bf and outgrown the allergy by 15 months (though she carries an epi pen for egg and peanut). So they are all different

It could be. You don't have to have a rash to have CMPA especially if it's non-ige. I have CMPA and have never had a rash through it.

If you are thinking of ditching the dairy I'd read this from Kellymom first as it explains CMPA very well Smile
