I'm not looking for a debate just wondering. Did you breast, formula or mix feed?

DramaAlpaca · 03/01/2022 16:22

Cosmois · 03/01/2022 16:22

WotsitMum · 03/01/2022 16:23

Do you feel regret for either decision? Or those who have done both did you have a preference looking back?

Mamaofaboy · 03/01/2022 16:24

One 7 month old DS, still BF but I do and have always expressed one bottle per day for DH to dreamfeed.

For me I preferred combi feeding to ebf but I think just because I have a big family and it made life easier so it may be different if your family is smaller im not sure!

Zero regrets. It was incredibly hard to begin with, and I’m incredibly proud of myself for persevering.

No

Is this some sort of survey? What's the monthly prize draw? Grin

Ebf two until almost 6 months. First couple of weeks was difficult and painful. Eased a bit. Fine from 6 weeks onwards.

My dc1 was still having a night feed the night before dc2 arrived.

MintJulia · 03/01/2022 16:30

EBF. The first two weeks were difficult but once we had both worked it out, I found it easy and natural. I was very lucky.

feedthepeony · 03/01/2022 16:31

Formula fed my DD, if I have another I will formula feed.

I'll try and get a few days in for colostrum etc but I have to come off of medication and it's life changing for me so long term breastfeeding is out the window. (This is if we have another.) Not sad about it. Don't feel like I've let my child down, because I haven't.

No regrets at all!

DramaAlpaca · 03/01/2022 16:33

Do I regret breastfeeding? Not at all. It's free and after the first couple of weeks I found it very easy. I know not all women do, I was lucky.

sanityisamyth · 03/01/2022 16:33

EBF for 6 months until I went back to work. Was gutted that I couldn't express enough to keep him on breast milk so he had to go onto formula.

SickAndTiredAgain · 03/01/2022 16:36

Breastfed until DD was just over 2 - she self weaned when I got pregnant with DC2 (I’m pregnant now).
Don’t regret it, but I know I was lucky to find it incredibly easy.

isitThursday · 03/01/2022 16:44

Thanks everyone. I'm just wondering. I didn't as I got PND but I'm envious of people who managed it and feel like a failure (DD is 4 months now)

Ds1 wouldn't latch, he had expressed breastmilk for 3 months then formula.

Ds2 is 13 months tomorrow and still breastfeeding. He had a tongue tie at birth so whilst it was hard going until we had it snipped he did latch. It was just painful with very frequent feeding for a few weeks.

I wish I'd had more support with my first. I was gutted that I couldn't breastfeed him.
Chunkymenrock · 03/01/2022 16:46

Breast x 2

Parker231 · 03/01/2022 16:47

Formula from day one. Wanted DH, friends and family to be able to give bottles. Easy and practical decision for us. Happy parents and babies.

Itshothothot · 03/01/2022 16:47

I formula fed my 2 from birth.

I do regret not at least trying to breastfeed. I didn't want to feed in front of people and i was worried about the pain etc so i never tried.

I should have given it a go though

firstimemamma · 03/01/2022 16:51

I breastfed and it's one of the achievements i'm most proud of. Will breastfeed the next baby too.
