Breasts feeling bruised

My little one is 16 weeks and exclusively breasts fed, but over the last couple of days my boobs are feeling really bruised. Nipples fine. I record every feed on the huckleberry app and she isn't feeling more or less than normal so not sure why they feel this way. I also don't have any lumps or redness and they feel quite well emptied. Has anyone else had this?

Could it be PMT? Maybe your cycle is starting up again?

@ffscovid hmmm I did think this to be fair! But I think it's pretty unusual for it to come back this early

I had my first period at 5 months post-partum (just). It's possible, especially if baby has been stretching out the time between feeds.
It took me by surprise too as I wasn't expecting it at all; I was exclusively BF and believed that my periods wouldn't come back at least until she was weaned and probably a lot later. I think some women have a lower threshold for the hormones to kick back in. Mine coincided with baby sleeping for longer stretches at night. With DC2, it was about 7 months I think. They fed very often at night (until 12+ months Grin) but obviously went longer in the day as weaning became established and this was the trigger.

@ffscovid ah! My little one has just started sleeping for 6/7 hour stretches at night, and I was sure I ovulated last week, so it would be it 😭😂
