Hello,

My baby girl is turning 4 months in 2 days and she is eating 7 oz every 3 hours. It seems quite a lot to me. I have friends with older babies eating less. She is 5.8kg. I'm not sure what to think. If you could please give me some advice would be amazing. 🙏🙏 thank you x

Babies are typically great at self regulating their appetites so she must need it. My kids had 7oz bottles at 4 months old, about every 3-4 hours during the day, and then slept through the night without waking. As a guide: in a 24 hour period they usually need about 2.5 ounces of formula per pound of body weight - is she having around this? And as for your friends older babies, they might have started weaning so could be naturally cutting down on milk, they might be feeding more frequently and having multiple night feeds, the could be a lower weight… it’s usually not helpful to compare. If in doubt talk to your doctor of HV.
