CMPA? Eczema? EBF

Hi :)

Looking for some help. My DS is exclusively breastfed and 16 weeks old. Since he was about 3 weeks he suffered from awful colic and reflux, this has improved slightly over last few weeks and he is no longer spending all of his awake time screaming! We thought this was due to tongue tie affecting his latch, which he’s had cut three times. He has now developed ? Eczema type rash over his face. GP prescribed hydrocortisone and antibiotic cream last week as the three patches he had on his forehead became infected, this improved but it has now spread over his face.

Does this look like a potential CMPA allergy rash? I am thinking I’ve missed this the whole time as so focused on the tongue tie but now he has the eczema maybe it is that :( his poo has always been yellow but can be quite explosive and sometimes mucusy.

The rash is only on his face though, not his body!

I’ve attached a photo of his little face from earlier tonight as thought his eyes also looked abit puffy :(

Thank you in advance

It could be but if it's only his face it could just as easily be your perfume or bony lotion.

From what you've described about his symptoms, I'd ask push for a referral to the allergy clinic.

Hi, I’m just wondering if you ever found the reason for this as my 8 wk old has literally all the same symptoms you’ve listed.

xx
