Am I going to make socially stigmatise DD while turning her teeth black and damning her dentally?

Because some people act like I am - because DD still has her milk from a bottle at 17 months. One woman at toddlers swore her teeth will be "black as soot" by 18 months. They seem pretty milky white right now.

Why does everyone seem so obsessed with getting babies onto beakers? Is it just coz Gina Ford tells them to?

DD loves her bottle. I have no intention of making her give it up until (a) she turns 3ish or (b) someone shows me a good reason to do it earlier.

I am just talking about milk in a bottle. Not juice.

Magrat, my OP was not meant to say "this is what I do, don't you dare challenge it". I was trying to say "This is what I do, I don't think I am wrong, but if there is evidence that I am wrong I would like to hear it". And there does seem to be some such evidence. Which is a shame for DD as I will have to wean her off the bottle (or at least a couple of the bottles).

The irony is that it took MONTHS to get her on the bottle. I breast fed to 14 months and although I offered a bottle at 9 months DD was 13 months before she accepted it.

FWIw with dd she was happy on open cups by 15 mths and never needed a bottle ever!
