Warming formula in microwave

I know you're not supposed to, but a friend said it was OK as long as you just use it to take the chill off, and shake the bottle thoroughly to even out the temperature - also check the temp carefully too obviously.

Does anyone else do this? If so how long do you heat for and on what setting?

Please don't jump down my throat BTW - I haven't done this myself yet, just asking

I've always done it, 50secs for 8oz and shake, my two have only ever taken it warm.

used the microwave, and also the adding hot water to cooled water bit. if i was going out and knew dd's would need a feed in say 1.5/2hrs time, would make up a bottle of hot water only, powder in sachet (the premeasured ones are good for day trips etc), by the time they needed feeding the water would be correct temperature for them.

I’ve heated pre made formula milk in the microwave too, 20 seconds for 180ml, swirl the bottle then another 20seconds. Swirl it again to make sure evenly distributed temperatures. Test it before feeding the baby.
