Constipation - Carobel or Gaviscon

DD is 6 weeks old and we've been told she likely has CMPA or at least intolerance as well as reflux. She was prescribed Nutramigen and infant Gaviscon which she had for just over a week however as she wasn't gaining weight they have now prescribed Neocate instead and Carobel. We were advised to stop giving her the Gaviscon

She has been on Neocate and Carobel for the last three days and in that time she has had really bad constipation, only passing two tiny stools which were rock solid and she cried through it.

Our paediatrician is on holiday so unable to follow up with her - is it likely the carobel causing the constipation or could it be from the Gaviscon even though we've stopped giving her it? Any thoughts/experience welcome!

Is she drinking enough OP? I know that with regular formula it's 2.5 floz per pound in weight in 24 hours. I'm not sure if it alters for Neocate?

Is she in pain when trying to pop?

And has your Paediatrician left you with any contacts for cover whilst they're away?

She's having about 4oz/120 ml every 3 hours. During the night she goes slightly longer for one feed but not much. Sometimes she takes slightly less than the 120ml but usually at least 100.

She does seem in pain yep. We have a number for the paediatrician but I just had to leave a message with their secretary, they weren't the most helpful.

I'm just not sure if it's the Gaviscon or the carobel / if it's delayed effect of the Gaviscon then I can wait it out as she's stopped telling it but if it's the carobel I don't know whether to stop giving it to her

Gaviscon definitely causes constipation in babies, but not sure about carobel I'm afraid!
