Eye sight tests and Breastfeeding?

This may sound strange but I recall that when I was pregnant one of the midwives mentioned not to have eye tests until breastfeeding had stopped as BF can have an effect on the eyes. Has anyone heard of this?

No but I have a sight test next week so I'd be interested to know if there is something!

I got contact lenses not long after ds was born, and the optician asked me if I was bf. He said that the hormones can slightly affect something (was it eye shape, can't remember) however he said in most cases, it was only very slight.

It's a myth - highly prevalent elsewhere (in the US, I gather) but this is the first time I have heard it here.

Vision changes, notable to the mother, do apparently happen in bf in rare instances, but there's no reason not to have an eye test.

this site talks about eyes and breastfeeding

Thank you had a look at Kellymom, I desparately need a test and new specs, so will now give it a go.
