Can a baby be allergic to formula but not to cow milk?

I am weaning my six month old and also trying to move him onto formula (I just don't want to BF anymore. I've had enough, and I also need to travel for work soon.). I've been trying him on Aptamil formula and I am wondering if he might be a bit intolerant to it. But he seems to be ok eating eg yogurt? So could he possibly be allergic to Aptamil but ok with dairy products? Does that makes any sense?

Hmmm not sure. What are his symptoms?

Some people can tolerate yogurt but not milk

He doesn't have much in the way of symptoms - just seems to have a very sore tummy at night (his sleep is terrible) and a rash around his jowls (bottom of his cheeks/top of throat). I just can't work out what else might be causing it. He was constipated for a while, but he isn't now, just normal.

Formulas are different between brands, so have you tried a different brand?

My DC was allergic to both cows milk and soy products, so it could be any ingredient in the formula.

Only tried Aptamil so far - will try others. I'm not even sure if it is the Aptamil. It's so hard!

Possibly. Aptamil contains some soy and fish as well.

Yes it is possible, Aptamil has soya, fish, palm oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, etc etc.

One of my ds had a problem with formula - he had NO allergies at all could eat yogurt ice cream cream cheese etc etc I’m big quantities but when I decided to stop bf I got aptamil ready made and every time e he had it he projectile vomited ????
The i had another ds and when he was 8 weeks old we tried formula (again aptamil) and he did the same - yet at 6 m with weaning had no allergies. I thought maybe it was just too rich perhaps ? It was very strange !
