Hi looking for some advice. I really like the look of the MAM anti colic self sterilising bottles. But want to use a Milton cold water steriliser can you use this steriliser with these bottles and does anyone have any experience.

As I’ll be formula feeding I have also red about the bottles potentially leaking and allowing water inside when running under cold tap, and you need to leave lid of so mil compresses down or something, any advice from anyone using MAM with formula?

Hi, I'm on baby no3 and have used MAM with all of my children. You can absolutely use them in a cold water steriliser with Milton. I did this on my first two. I sterilise them now in the microwave as they're self sterilising ones and I can fit more in at a time. I've never had a leak with the bottles. I'm sure you'd only get that if all the pieces hadn't been put back together properly. Also never had an issues with adding the formula either. Hope that helps you!

Thank you that’s really helpful

Why do you want to use a cold water steriliser, when you can use the microwave? That was the huge advantage for me, I loathe the smell of chlorine and that's what Milton smells like.

We did have a couple leak, but only when they'd broken - we just bought new ones. I don't see how water could get in. The set up for sterilising is a bit confusing at first (at least it is when you're severely sleep-deprived and in shell-shock from a newborn!) but becomes second nature - I'm pretty sure I could do it with my eyes closed now.

Thanks, personally I love the smell of Milton. Had a younger sister with large age gap and it was so easy using cold water. I don’t want the MAM bottles for cleaning function, more the other functions it has. - I prefer the idea of just leaving bottles in the steriliser until I need them and really don’t like idea of microwave, but again just personal I understand Milton smell isn’t for everyone. But that’s why I’m keen that which ever bottle we choose can be used in Milton cold water.

Ahh I see. Well yes, you can cold water sterilise too. They're really good quality bottles, definitely worth getting.

Hi! Hope you can reply to this please. I’ve been sterilising the mam bottles in the microwave, but also have the Milton water steriliser. With the energy prices so high, I wanted to sterilise the bottles for my 1 month old in the Milton instead. So do I put in all parts of the bottle, then after 15 mins take them out and put them on my bottle rack to dry naturally, and/or could I also use the bottle straight away for a feed (formula) without the sterilised water drying off? Worried it’ll harm my baby? Thanks 😊 Sandip
