Six month old bf all night

Help! I’m so tired.

My second son is coming up to seven months and has me up constantly throughout the night. I’m pretty certain it’s a comfort thing as he doesn’t take a dummy. He gets plenty of milk during the day and a nice long feed at bed time. So why on earth is he waking every hour to feed?! We’ve tried him on a bottle a couple of times which he just plays around with. I don’t know if it’s worth my husband attempting to give him a bottle of formula.

I don’t know what to do tbh. I’m worrying because I go back to work in January and no way can I go in and do a good job if I’ve had 2/3 hours sleep. He’s in our bed as it’s easier than transferring but we haven’t yet tried him in his own room. Also weaning well and eats pretty much anything.

Would really appreciate some helpful advice x

Does he fall asleep on his own at bedtime or on the boob? It’s key to get them to self settle, so use pat shush first and then gradually try to get him to fall asleep on his own. I followed the baby whisperer which allows them to cry for up for 6mins before falling asleep but that’s not for everyone.

Also is he getting enough sleep in the daytime? Waking up that much at night suggests over tiredness.

Sleeping through the night at that age is prob a bit ambitious but he should be able to get through with only one or two feeds by now.

Was he always a bad sleeper or has he recently started waking more?
