Breastfeeding - I cannot stop eating

MrsCremuel · 16/11/2021 21:01

There is a constant stream of food going in my mouth.

I cannot stop eating. I go in the kitchen to get a drink and I have to have a couple of biscuits, I’ve just eaten a whole meal and couldn’t resist having some celery and cream cheese and then finishing off most of a tub of ice cream. My baby is six weeks old I’m currently on the sofa at what I think is beginning of cluster feeding. Desperately sad that I’m running out of food and already planning tomorrow’s takeaway.

It’s absolutely ridiculous anyone else in the same boat?

When I had my last baby I breastfed for 6 months and didn't stop eating! You need the energy, embrace it Smile

This was me a few years ago! Go with it and eat! I'm pregnant again and will probably be the same again next time.

I flip between the deranged appetite and no appetite. Today I didn’t eat (and would have struggled to eat if I’d wanted to) until 7pm and now I can’t stop. Hormones are so weird!

Yep. That's how it goes!

When they say that you need 500 extra calories a day, they'd never met my DS! 500 calories was like a Scooby Snack, I could literally not stop eating!

In the end I upped the protein I was eating as it was the only things that sated my appetite.

My DD is 4 weeks and I just said to my husband last night that I haven’t been full since I had her! Decided to try to fill myself at lunch today. 4 sandwiches, a pastry and a big bag of crisps later, I’ve ran out of food but could totally keep going

MrsCremuel · 18/11/2021 12:51

It’s settled a bit today but I I am still eating at least one slice of cake a day and at least 6 biscuits.

Been there! DD is now 7 months old and it’s abated slightly 😂 on the upside despite eating everything that isn’t nailed down I’m 3lbs under my pre pregnancy weight.

A favourite local restaurant offered a macaroni cheese starter which I’d never been able to manage before I had my DC. Fast forward 3 months and I wolfed it down, had a massive main and even added a dessert… It’s amazing.

There is a couple of all you can eat type restaurants near to us and they are usually a favourite with BFing Mums Smile
