Hi. I'm a first time mum to a 4 week old.
He's breastfeed but has a bottle of formula every night before bed. He's always straining& is extremely gassy ( awful smell )& he poops every 10 mins and the stool is very wet & mucusy
The gp took a stool sample and sent it to the lab.
Meanwhile I stopped drinking & eating any
Dairy and we have changed the formula for a lactose free.
However nothings changed. He's constantly unhappy when awake. Always gassy & poops constantly. Any suggestions on how I can help him until his results come back? Tia

It takes quite a few days to get the dairy out of the baby's system so to speak. Soya often goes hand in hand with a dairy intolerance so perhaps try cutting that out too.

It can take 6 weeks for all of the dairy to leave your and the baby's system.

If baby has a milk allergy it's unlikely to be to lactose- are you sure it's lactose free formula you have?
If so, I would ask to get prescribed formula suitable for CMPA, it's the protein most babies react to, not lactose
