and how do you know if you have one?

For me it is a hot, hard, painful lump, red patch on boob and a feeling of pressure.

Good info here and how to treat

like you're swelling up and about to explode?

My top tip is climb into a hot bath, massage and look if you can, and I could actually see where the blockage was (because of no milk coming) and eventually could see it and get it with my fingertip. (it was like a tiny hard crystal)

Cue surge of milk into the bath!

Sorry if TMI!

Thanks, that's not it then. Just a little bump, I wonder if a hot flannel will help.

LegoLeia that sounds like it would be really satisfying afterwards

I've just had a blocked duct too and there was a small white patch on my nipple where the skin had started to grow over it. I tried massaging etc but the only thing that worked was using a steralised (sp) needle to pierce it hope yours clears before that... also I found this link helpful - www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/breastfeeding/problemsandsolutions/blockedducts/
good luck
